Jeannette Lindsey is a single mother of one son, Mason J. Lindsey-Haywood. She currently resides in Raleigh, NC. Her hometown is Wilson, NC and she moved to Raleigh after graduating from Pitt Community College with her A.A.S in Computer Programming. After three years of working as a computer programmer she decided to take her career to something less stressful, early childhood education. Jeannette worked in Abundant Life Preschool for seven years as a teacher working with the ages from infant to four years old. During that time she earned a certificate for Wake Technical College in Early childhood education. While working in a full time position, she also earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Education and Information technology from East Carolina University. That afforded her the opportunity to work at the Department of Transportation for North Carolina in their training and development department. She fell in love with training after spending months training senior citizens at the Mary E. Wilson foundation on basic computer skills and MS software.
North Carolina has been here home for most of her life but in 2007 she moved to Alexandria, VA to work at the American Society of Training and Development, ASTD. At ASTD she worked as technical support and trainer. She trained chapters on how to create their websites in SharePoint as well as assisted them with support and maintaining their sites. ASTD, open a range of opportunities for her to gain knowledge and experience in the field of training and development. After three years of working at ASTD, Jeannette returned to North Carolina after having her son in 2010. Her desire was to raise him close to family so with a heavy heart she said good-bye to ASTD.
Jeannette now resides in Raleigh, NC with her three year-old son, Mason. She is currently working with the Office of the State Controller as a Technology Support Analyst. This opportunity has given her experience with formal and online training. She also has assisted with creating documentation and various start-up projects.
Jeannette goal is to gain a position in training development and curriculum development with either a university or private organization.
